How about this for a little more confusion:

BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-traffic Alert and Trailer Tow (optional on XL and XLT, included in Lariat Ultimate Package (96U) and King Ranch® Ultimate Package

Straight from the order guide, is says BLIS is included with 96U, but the package list for 96U does not include BLIS.

Thoughts?

My order today is listed as a priority 19. Any idea what that is?

Typo on the "Major Product Changes" section you're reading. The BLIS is an option in the Optional Equipment section and is shown as an option, independent of the 96U Lariat ultimate package. The BLIS is $496 invoice.

Chrome package is usually around $1k I think, but does include the running boards.

20" wheels are usually around $1200.

Don't forget, you get the LED lights with the Ultimate.

Ford, just get the build and price up already!
Chrome package is $1035 invoice and the 20" chrome PVD wheels are $1048 invoice.

You get LED box lighting with the Lariat Ultimate Package. the LED Quad Beam headlamps and taillamp package is $993 invoice, and you need to have the lariat ultimate package (or a higher trim level like KR or Platinum).

Original Post is updated with package options and some add-ons.

It comes down to this...the pictures we have seen from the State Fair of TX and auto shows around the country? My friends...those are $65,000 trucks and higher.

I have a feeling a LOT of 6.2 gas trucks are going to be sold this year, including myself. That money, in a Lariat trim, buys you the Ultimate Package + BLIS + LED + 20" wheels.

I ordered a long bed crew cab f350 diesel today with all the above options you list, plus upfitters, trailer tow technology pack, and chrome package for 68,413 invoice. Delete upfitters, diesel, and chrome and you're down in the 58k price point for a gasser.

I know I will be going from a diesel back to gas!! I love the power of my diesel, but the maintenance and repair costs are out of control. If I was putting 20-30k miles a year and towing a 5th wheel all the time it would be different, but I'm not in that category so it's gonna be an F350 with the 6.2 for me! I can do a lot with $8k!!

It's easy to fix the wheels later, not too hard to fix the headlights (I put bi-xenon projectors in my '09 F150 - best upgrade ever), and the BLIS is a nice to have... It's a lot harder to upgrade the engine after the fact! Personally, I'd wait, save up, and get the truck you want.

A lot of people don't tow with these they're just work trucks that only haul with them what's in the bed. For them a gas option is fine. If you're towing regularly at all I wouldn't even consider a gasser. Majority of these trucks rarely if ever are actually towing anything though. I know a lot on this forum do but you see guys driving these every day that have never hooked them up to pull anything.

Back when diesel was less expensive than gas and the diesels were getting much better mileage than gas the break even point cost wise was around 100k miles. Now the gas mileage is up and the diesel mileage is down and the diesel package is up there may never be a break even point for those who not haul substantial weight. But for those who do haul weight the diesel will still be cheaper to operate over an extended period of time. And then there are those who just want to have a diesel. Can anyone really justify thousands of dollars extra for LED headlights? They work better, they are safer, they are awesome looking and they are expensive, at least at this juncture. I like diesels and many of my miles are empty. Will it be cost effective? I doubt it for me this time but the diesel in my veins would never support the purchase of a gasoline propelled truck. Ahhhhh, the sweet ping of diesel ignition plays better than a symphony and the climb up a mountain with the camper on board is ex-hill-arating. See you at the top.

Led headlamp package is $993, not thousands of dollars. Where I'm at, diesel is at least 10% cheaper.

The LED's themselves are not thousands of dollars but the packages required to even be able to order them support my comment. And here in the lower 48 most everywhere I travel I see gasoline 8-20 cents cheaper than diesel.
