I have a 2006 F-350 DRW, 6.0L with 113k miles that I am having an issue with the instrument cluster. The entire dash will lose power (tach, speedometer, all gauges, radio and probably some other stuff I don’t realize). This doesn’t seem to happen when the engine is cold, but once warmed up it seems that when the engine reaches 2700ish rpm first the battery light comes on, them the dash dies. Allow the rpm to come down a little and everything comes back on. It doesn’t affect the engine, headlights, marker lights, cruise control, ect. Everything other than the dash seems to operate fine.
The first time it happened I was pulling a camper and had just come off a stop and was pulling hard up a hill. I thought that it could be a ground problem with the engine under torque, but I checked all the ground straps I could find and all are in tack and in good condition. I have made it do it multiple times and every time it happens at about the same rpm. I’m not sure if there is a link here, but…
Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
