I had my cluster out for another reason, and while I was there I replaced a couple of bulbs. It's easy once you have the cluster out, it's just 1/4 turn sockets. They are rubbery and deep in the plastic, but a pair of needle nose pliers makes short work of it.
To get the cluster out, (99-07) you have to pull the radio, put the trans in first gear, tilt the wheel down, pull the dash bezel loose, disconnect the accessories and head light switch. Once you have that big bezel out of the way the cluster is held in with 4-8 bolts, the transmission indicator unclips from the bottom and there are a couple of harnesses in the back of it. It's been a while, but it is pretty self explanatory once you get in her.
