Can someone that has just ordered a set please take some wall light pattern
before and after photos. The Ford manual has the distance from light to wall
at 20 feet. This will show the cutoff and light level. HODs are going to put out
more light. The trick is controlling it in a useful way. And I think we have it with
the work that Tcm glx has and is doing here. I can't wait
for a little extra money in the cookie jar. I now know where it's going.
EDIT : Correction on the distance from the wall is 25' not 20' also the wall needs to be 8' wide
Sean, I think it's 25 feet. But he dose a really good job. We're going to have to meet. I'd like to set up a set on my truck maybe he can take pictures. I'm not good on any of that.
I got the correct number here in a book or on the PC when I get
the dead power supply replaced. Too much stress or age. It smoked. Just looked it up in the workbook and your right it's 25'
I also found that the wall needs to be 8' wide. Sure glad I have paper manuals.
I painted a line on the driveway right after I got my paper copies of the
Ford Workshop Manuals so that I could make a quick check anytime I have
the lamp assembly out so I can recheck the adjustment. 55 watt HID lamps
that are out of adjustment are nasty. I do keep them tipped down more that
the book calls for and that way I get less flashing and I have found I like it
aimed that way. Gives me more light down front. I can't wait for the new assemblies
with all the light going where it is needed and not all over the place.
I have been using HIDs in this and truck and the one before it. I am sort of
set on 3000K for the fog lights and 4300K for the main lights. The one thing
that my 2002 Ranger had was glass fog with metal reflectors. I wished we
could get the fogs in glass and metal. 35 watt is more than enough for the fog.
This chatter got me to thinking about potions that Tcm glx may have for the fog.
Sorry, been really busy since I got them installed. These things are GREAT! Fast switch from dim to bright, and the brights are basically spots. Haven't got any "action" shots, but here are some right after install.
Yes, the driver's side amber was blown at the time, so disregard.
Sure am!! Morimoto is releasing a LED fog that you guys will love!! Specific for the square fog lights of the f250 and 350.
Please keep us updated Tony! I assume they will be plug and play? Also, you mentioned LED. Will they bei n a projector housing? Is it designed for driving lights or a true fog light? Thanks Tony!

Looks good! Please take a pic from further away too. I want to see how it looks on the truck in comparison to stock. Thanks!
