Hello everyone been a member here for a little while and this is my first post so please bear with me here
I just recently acquired a 86 ford f150 shortbox 4wd the truck has a 302 and I have noticed that I will have a hard start after shutting if off while it's still warm, I had my uncle.ran his old ford code reader on it and got several codes 44, 31, 34, 13, and 25 , remember this is a electronic fuel controlled 302 and help would be appreciated identifying these codes thank you in advance!!
Assuming these codes were pulled with the engine not running... you will be presented with two sets of codes:
KOEO - key on engine off - what the computer finds problems with at that very moment in time
CM - Continuous Memory - What it remembers about the previous N driving cycles.
These will be separated upon presentation to the user; some code readers display a 10 others display a 1.
But you need to specify which codes come from which area, KOEO or CM.
To be really complete, you'd also do the KOER (key on engine running) test which will tell you what the computer finds wrong after performing a self-test on the running engine; this is different than the KOEO self test which checks basic integrity of the computer and its communication to all the sensors.
