Well I got all the items I thought I needed for this Toyota power steering. I went with a 30 inch column, 2 inch column drop mount and a swivel ball floor mount. Now I found out I should have went with a longer column drop and the ball mount will not work because it hit right in the crease of the floor pan of the plate I was going to weld in. I can use the 2 inch drop if I add another u joint with a short piece of shaft between them so the column will fit with out hitting the dash. A 32 inch column would have been the better choice but I went with what most others used. I am going to get a 4 1/2 column drop and another type of floor mount. The pictures show my mock up and will work to show me where my brake pedal will go. Next I am going to pull the 390 out of my donor truck so I can start mocking that up.
If you want a little more length from your column without scrapping everything, you might consider a Borgeson vibration reducer. This may not be the exact unit for your application, but you'll get the idea. It's a little longer than your standard u-joint, and add some comfort while driving by taking away some of the rattle from your hands. The link was just an example, not necessarily the best deal or exact part you would want. Check your specs as necessary.
good ideal. I may build one and also put the radio in it too. I am going to pull the bucket seat from my donor and see how the wheel feels then go from there
