i have 2 blocks, one came out of my truck which was a 360. the other is a 390 that my cousin gave me. the one that my cousin gave me is a mirror 105 block, both are standard right now but either will need to be bored, should i use the old original block and save the mirror 105 block for a possible future project with bigger hp and torque numbers. or just go ahead and use it.

In all reality, if I am not mistaken, the blocks should both be the same. Your build-ability will of course be determined once the block is at the shop, cleaned and inspected. Go with what you are confortable.

The 105 block has reinforced main bearing saddles and maybe even thick cylinders that can be bored out to 4.13. Check by knocking out the freeze plugs and sticking in a allen wrench between the cylinder walls, try the top, middle and bottom on both sides. Tell us the largest wrench you could squeeze in.
