I may have to replace fuel injector #8 on my 2004 6.0. Aside from doing brakes and rotors, I don't have any experience working on my truck. Was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice for me before starting this, or any videos that could help walk me through. Thanks.
Side note- this is the second injector to go bad in the past few months. Ford also wanted to replace the HFCM, so I'll be doing that as well.
Do the blue spring mod first and do a fuel pressure test after that, 60 psi is a favored pressure for these injectors. Run it a little while and see how it does.

Look up srmastertech on YouTube he has a bunch of 6.0 videos and are the most detailed out there. As far as tips when installing injectors, make sure you clean the injector cup good, make sure no copper sealing washers are left in the injector cup, make sure you blow out the bolt holes to ensure there is no liquid in the bolt holes as that will prevent proper seat load on the copper sealing washer, make sure every oring gets lubed with fresh oil before they are installed and make sure you use a torque wrench. It is a good idea to blow out every bolt hole before you start reassembly.
I've watched senior mastertech's video many times. He really goes through all the important steps. It is very important not to drop anything, esp the metal clip on the harness connector (sorry I don't remember to proper name for it). It apparently cannot be retrieved with a magnet. I would watch the videos several times first, then you should be ready.
The fuel pressure test is really just checking a fuel gauge (buy and install ,about $100) which is really important with this engine. The hope is the blue spring (which is cheap) will fix your low pressure situation and avoid replacing the more expensive fuel pump. The low fuel pressure may be killing your injectors one by one.
