6.2 cranks, doesnt start - fuel issue??

Hello,

This is my first post to these forums and would like to thank you in advance for any advice you may provide.

I have a 2011 F250 6.2 XLT Reg Cab FX4

Here's my story:

Got in truck and started per usual. Begin to leave driveway and the truck stopped running. I was luckily able to roll back to driveway in neutral. Truck cranks over but does not start.

I removed hose to intake filter and sprayed some ether(starting fluid) to eliminate any ignition issues as a possible problem. Truck fired right up but died due to lack of fuel.

I was unable to hear the fuel pump turn on while under the truck.

I checked the fuse and swapped the relay under the hood with a known good relay from the wipers.

I borrowed a buddies Snap On Solas scanner and it showed the following code while running a function test - P0627 - Fuel Pump 'A' Control Circuit/Open

I have yet been able to drop the tank to check for power at the pump.

Is there anything else you would recommend I try before dropping the tank?

Is fuel pump failure common on these newer 6.2s?? I searched without finding anything related to this issue.

I also saw that some older models had a relay under the spare tire. Do these models have that as well??

Sorry for so many questions. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I thought I read they did away with the inertia switch? Would it be in or near fuse panel below the glove box?

In that area. I think behind the side kick panel. There is a pic of a fuel pump I thought.

I just got back home to the truck and there IS a small panel with a fuel shutoff sign on it but when the panel is removed there is nothing behind it. I looked in the owners manual and it says to tune key on and off a few times to disable the fuel shutoff feature in the event of a collision. I have obviously tried to start the truck a few times with no luck. Looks like I wil be dropping the tank to check for power at the pump

Did you every find the culprit? Or did you just give up? I am have the same issue with my 2011 6.2l. It is intermittent, but aggravating as heck!
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks, Tim

I have the same issue, along with a stumble (thread is a few down on the 6.2 page). I just replaced the fuel pump today so we'll see if it fixes it like it did for the other guy, I'll report back in a day or two and see. So far on the 40 mile test drive it's doing good, but it's still going through the learning process.
