just be mindful, if you have steel braided lines (i think they are fuel?) and your going after IPR you may want to add wire loom so you don't have your hands look like a cat scratched you up...
As for the ICP, I know it may be making you mad that it broke like that but think of it like this, at least its not leaving you stranded in the middle of no where with out your tools, your safe at home (i hope) and you can get another, plus if it didn't brake now it was bound to go at some point in the trucks life, usually when its most inconvenient....
Here is what I mean
Figure I would nick name the valley "Cat Scratch valley"
Alright guys,I'm in the process of installing up pipes.I can't get the collector lined up to the turbo,I've tried the wood trick, bungee cords that don't bounce back, hopped up and down on one leg while spinning around chanting Ford Ford Ford.I'm stumped here.Is it possible to install collector and pass side pipe to the turbo out of the truck, then gently wiggle it back in there?.
I really need help here.Thanks,Steve
Other pics and stuff of help in the thread if you need more
I've got all the bolts loose with the exception of the pass side to the butt, everything I've read says to torque them up beforehand, and I can see why,no getting to those once turbo is in . I'm going to have a cold beer and get back up there.Thanks.

I found that having the bolts just barely started (one nut's thickness worth) between the collector and the uppipes really helped. Get the collector to the turbo mounted and tight, then the bottom of the uppipes to the manifolds and fairly snug.
Then tighten the uppipes to the collector, as this draws tight it stretches the bellows to fit (), then tighten all.
Personally, I left them all loose. Then line it up, up top bolt it together then torq all eight bolts to spec's. Worked great. I had the down pipe out to do this because I decided to do 4" exhaust at the same time. Never had a problem. Good luck and let us know how you did it. It isn't any fun for sure.
Well folks, after about 6 hours between yesterday and today, I'm throwing in the towel,I am done laying on top of the motor.I can't get the butt to line up . I just can't do this anymore . I want to thank all of you for your advice.Maybe in a few months I'll be motivated to try again but for now I'm done. Thanks again everyone. .Steve

I hear ya! When I finished mine (after breaking and locating a new EBPV solenoid), I threatened to WELD MY HOOD SHUT!
Walk away, take some time, have a cold beverage. Relax a bit and get to it whenever it suits you. Beit tonight, tomorrow, next month
Your profile says you're in AZ- still true? That's a bit far for us Pennsyltukians
I walked away from my truck as well during the same part of my modifications. I took about a 15 minute break, and when I climbed back up there the collector and turbo lined up perfectly the first time.
Once bolts up and the band was on, I stepped back and looked very closely with a bright light because I couldn't believe it.

With the down pipe removed are the passenger side bolts to the connector easily accessible? I'm hitting it hard today and not stopping until it's done.Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply, was camping and fishing this weekend with my daughter
I have a set of extensions and a knuckle I used. I think the extensions are 12", 18", 24" plus a number of smaller ones. Can't remember the combination, but was able to reach quite easily
