I'm not a troll!Ihad boost up to 14 when I punched it but i'm not a mechanic so thought that was good boost?Yes the price is bad but when your 1,200 miles from home and you have to leave next week you have to do what you have to do.They called me last night to tell me there were still problems and had to run more tests WTF.When I brought it in I told them I thought it was the solenoid in the transmission so if it ends up it was the s--- will hit the fan. Will let you all know what happens.
Well sorry to hear that. Don't know your situation, but is there any way you can tell them just stop what they are doing and you will pay them? Take it somewhere else?
I have a feeling they are taking advantage of your situation of being so far away. Where is the truck located?
They have got it already on they told me last night they would call me mid morning to let me know what they find out and again no call.I have left the service dept three voice messages to call me but no call back.i'm 74 and here in Casa Grande,AZ.for the winter and if I had another car I would go out and find out what the hell is going on.When I do get to talk to them going to tell them to put the old parts back on and I will find someone else to do the work.Tanks all for your help.
By your initial description your saying under medium throttle the engine RPMs will suddenly shoot up but vehicle speed will only creep up? Is this right? When it does this, if you suddenly let off throttle it clunky into gear? Once it shifts to the next gear does it accelerate normal? What I'm getting at is were you able to isolate it to a specific gear or was it in all the gears?
With a good scan tool you can monitor transmission's shafts speeds and compare #s with standard specs to see if it's slipping somewhere.
If you can recall and post more specific to the problems then we all can get a better idea to help.

I would strongly suggest paying for any repairs with a credit card, in the event they throw the kitchen sink at it, and it sounds like some of the sink is already priced in......you can dispute what you might feel is fair with the credit card company.
I'm sure you know this but just wanted to throw that out there. I have used disputes in the past. I don't abuse them, but sometimes vendors need to know when they are in the wrong and not everyone is willing to bend over and take it up the shorts.

Yes that's the dealer. They are going to put in a new oil pump as the pressure isn't great. They wanted to do new injectors but you can guess what I said.So now up to $4,300.00
If I knew anything about diesels I would not be in here asking for help. And none of it makes any sense to me either. So I will close the post as of now.
This keeps making less sense with every post. Am I missing something? I hope it works out in the end.
They see a cash cow and are talking him for all his bank is worth.
I really hope one of the AZ people will step up and help. That truck
needs to get out of that shop yesterday.
Question for the OP have they started to answer your phone calls or are they
still dumping you into the answering service?
Really too bad Anthony is not driving anymore.
What is need is to get someone with a good scan and live data tool
to put eyes on the truck to help you out.
I am going to skip over the fact of how they got to a pump and say this
Do not let them replace any injectors before a pump or during the same
process. Injectors should be checked with a healthy pump if in dead the pump
is truly bad and I still question that.
I agree on that they should be paid with a credit card. Chargebacks can be a
b**** for a merchant.
