How far do you guys have to travel for good machine work? Can you post your favorite shops and their locations? Also post anybody that has a habit of building grenades instead of engines?
How about G & S Machine & Engine Parts in Springdale? Anybody use them? I'm located in NW AR, but I would be willing to travel a ways if it meant I could use somebody trustworthy.
I don't know of any anywhere mainly because I've never had a need to use one. I'm going to be needing one soon in central AR if anyone could recommend. I'm in Cabot.
It depends on what you want done. Copperhead engines here in Fort Smith has a very experienced machinist and the old man builds some pretty good stuff. He's been doing it for a long time.
I have a couple of older guys that do all of my machine work, never had a problem with them in over 25 years of doing business. But that said, they are getting older and have semiretired.
There's a couple of other shops here that deal mostly with high performance if that's your thing.
robably a bit too far of a travel for you, but Eason' Machine in Heber Springs is who I used for many years. He's built everything for me from a Jeep 4 cylinder to a '39 Packard 6 cyl. Never had a problem with any of his work at all.
Theres one right down the street from me. I havent had an engine in there personally but from being around them & have heard, the only problem I have heard is they arent the fastest. Its only two brothers but Im sure a little extra money would speed it up.

Cabot automotive has a good rep., but I've never used them. They're down on second street.
I have used motor pro in Jacksonville a couple times. Had a head rebuilt for my old bronco way back, and I have my flywheels machined there. Motor pro is on general samuels, right behind the base.
