First off to everyone , especially you co425 I'm sorry that I took credit for your truck. We all have dreams and your truck is exactly what I want my piece of **** to look like. I have been following your build from the beginning. Once again I am so sorry for taking credit for your hard work
The man has admitted he was wrong and has publicaly apologized for his actions. Now, give him some advice if he asks questions about how to do something on his truck.
Ok, I'll bite. First bit of advice. STOP referring to your truck as a piece of s***. And start referring to it as the bad a** truck that you're envisioning. Then get a notebook (otherwise known as a build book) and start by listing all of the things that work and don't work, what you like and what you don't like, what needs attention first and what can wait, and what you want it to be when you're done. If you have skills either with photoshop or artistic skills make a drawing (picture) of what you see the truck to be. Then when you're armed with all of that figure out a starting point for the project and get to work. Then once you do get started working on the truck, start your build thread here on FTE. Oh one last bit of advice, when you start with all of that, you'll want to grow some thick tough skin. Because what you like and what you're doing on your project others may not like and may not do. But they'll let you know that they don't like it. And although it's not meant to hurt your feelings, it can and will if you let it. And if you head this advice and follow all of this info. you shouldn't become easily discouraged once you do start the build. And hopefully this truck won't end up like so many other projects that end getting sold, parted, and worst of all scrapped.

That's the plan I saved it from a junkyard for 1300 bucks. Best purchase I've ever made

We're a pretty forgiving bunch here.
Like Alex said, make a plan. Personally, I've had my truck for 31 years and have been seriously restoring it for the last seven, still nowhere near driveable.
The first things to take care of are make it safe, second make it dependable, the last things are beauty/performance.
Definitely start a build thread. People here are more than willing to offer their opinions, suggestions, criticisms and compliments.
The important things are don't get discouraged and lose interest, don't bite off more than you can chew. Most important is have fun with your project.
Good luck.
100% what has been said, 23 years and still so much to do on mine. Mike you're killing me, your truck is a work of art in progress and the updates are always appreciated. Coopdog76 keep us updated with lots of pics.

Thanks. Stay tuned, I'll have some interesting updates shortly. Not a lot of progress but some (I think) interesting decisions on how I'm going to proceed.....and maybe a little progress.
Hijack over.

I appreciate the apology. Please learn from your mistakes. Acting as you were before is a slippery slope. A lot of good people have turned into the scum of the earth with one small bad step after the other.
Trust me this is the place where you want to make friends not enemy's. This is the finest place to learn and receive help to make a truck into a beauty queen.
Well it's jacked up that you take credit for somebody's else work and try to pass it as your own and you got busted. My problem is that you MIGHT have done it before and more than likely will do it again.I don't deal very well with with liars and thieves.
Another thing that might help give her a name. I was pretty disinterested int the process of fixing mine up until one of my friends named her, I'm not sure if the name will stick but she has a name and somehow it makes it easier (for me at least) to put in the effort. people may call me crazy but your truck has a personality find a name that fits her personality and that you'll remember and it might help you on the dedication front. again just a thought.
Took me about 2 years to get most of my parts in order and now I'm restarting the build that I started 2.5 years ago. Now if my banker babe Ronnie would hurry up and by this house for me and get this current landlady off my azz, things would be perfect.
Be straight up with us coopdog and we'll let you out of the doghouse, bite me and you'll be the one getting rabies. LOL

Welcome to FTE, coopdog76.
I have made many bad mistakes in my life and am grateful for the forgiveness of my God, wife, family and friends. Anyone who can publicly apologize as you just have, instead of just disappearing or taking on a new identity and hiding the past, gets a measure of respect from me. Increasing that respect must be earned, however. You have taken a good first step. Now start a new thread and post some pics of that "bad a$$" truck!
I think the one thing you need to do is, just be yourself. You'll make a lot of "virtual" friends and useful contacts plus, if you listen, you'll absorb an incredible amount of information and knowledge.
Personally I think your truck looks really good, I know it looks a lot better than what I started with on some of my projects.
