Replacing dash knobs on '66 F100
I'm trying to ID the dash ***** I need to replace on my 1966 F-100. It's hard to find close-ups of the images I find online. Tried to include my photos here but had to post separately (See 2 posts above) Any info greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim
The headlight : Reach behind dash and feel for a spring release on the headlight switch, usually located at the top, or bottom of the switch, press and pull, the shaft and **** should come out.
Lighter: On my 65 the **** unscrews from the heating element.
The Fan/Heater and Wiper *****: There should be a very small slot at the base of the ****. There's a spring clip in the **** itself, the **** slides onto the shaft and spring tension secures the **** to the shaft. By using a small pointed tool, or something similar, slide it into the slot and either move the tool toward the seat, or firewall thus releasing the spring tension and the know should come off?
Choke: Believe it's attached to the choke cable and requires the cable be disconnected from the choke and pulled thru?
Perhaps member with additional info can explain what the other dash openings are for: On my 65 F100 CC; Right side of column, from right to left: Fan/Heater, Choke, and chrome filler insert. Left side of column are already marked on your dash.
I put the bezels on the buffer, they cleaned up very well. Not as good as new but nearly and saved me a bunch of cash.
