Depends how it's counted. The figure I heard several years ago was closer to 200 Trillion.
It doesn't really matter. The debt won't be paid back. It's mathematically impossible. Not a chance. It was never meant to be. So long as the interest payments are made, they will keep rolling it over. Those "promises" won't be kept either, though they will attempt to tax everyone to death. Soon the interest alone will gobble it all up. Tilt. Game Over.
