Kickdown cable?

looking into a Lokar shifter for a 302/aod efi, out of a 89 E250
I have a stock kickdown cable hooked up that came off the van. So will the kickdown work with a Lokar floor shifter or do I need the Lokar kickdown cable?

You're confused. The AOD requires a TV cable connected between the trans and the throttle linkage, it modulates fluid line pressure inside the trans and it will not work at all without this cable. This is not the same as a kickdown cable used on a C6.
The gear shift lever will also have a linkage or cable that attaches to the trans but that is the same for all transmissions.

Ok I starting to understand a little bit of the difference between kickdown and the tv cable and I want to keep the stock tv cable but change from the column shifter to a floor shifter or console shifter
Some are using the Lokar shifter that need the Lokar tv cable
I looked at those, looked at the B&M maybe I can use the stock tv/shifter brakets with B&M
Any good ideas? Pick an pull something maybe

The shifter cable/linkage is separate form the TV cable and connects to a different lever on the transmission so you don't need to change or remove anything related to the TV cable to install a floor shifter.
