Alright team; I've gained a ton of knowledge on the forum...asking questions and searching posts. So here's my contribution back to the brain trust. This thread is where I'll post updates and info on my rig. I'll add to the thread as things on my truck change. Please feel free to ask questions and make suggestions. My goal is to provide one location to drop my knowledge for others to learn from...or laugh; I don't care either way. I hope at least a few folks can gain info and/or ideas from this thread.
I'm also a numbers nerd; my wife laughs at how I can't make a decision without a spreadsheet. So I'll track how things change on my rig and post the info here.
To start the show, my truck is a 2016 F-150 crew cab, short box 4x4 with the 3.5ltr Ecoboost. Options include:
- 501A Package: Didn't want most of the expensive stuff on the 502A package, plus I needed the split-bench seats.
- Extended range fuel tank: This should be standard. How the hell am I supposed to get anywhere with the standard 23-gallon tank?
- Sony HD radio upgrade: I'm a loud-music freak; I admit it. It's worth the price for sure and I haven't said that about previous gen Sony systems.
- MAX trailer tow package: Honestly, I don't tow anything right now. I wanted the upgraded cooling at a minimum. A 10hr run last summer at 75mph in 115 degree heat saw the tranny temp on my Explorer hit 217 degrees. My F-350 V10 never got anywhere near that hot hauling a 9,000lb trailer at 4,000 rpm over a mountain pass drinking gas at 3mpg. More cooling is better. The option also gives me better resell and the ability to tow any reasonable trailer I might buy in the future. The 3.55 rear gears suck more fuel, but make the truck very...responsive...off the line around town.
- PowerScope mirrors: I got hooked on large mirrors when I had a GMC and my F-350 just solidified the addiction. These were a must-purchase.
- FX4 off-road: I preferred the ride of the stiffer shocks, but always vote for more/better skid plates. The locking rear diff was an added bonus.
- Spray-in bedliner: I was going to Line-X the truck anyway, so might as well let Ford do it.
The numbers as delivered:
Front Axle: 3,160lbs (only 290lbs remaining?!...come on Ford!)
Rear Axle: 2,300lbs (1,500lbs remaining)
Total Weight: 5,460 (1,540lbs remaining on GVWR)
(Truck scaled on a private business scale that's historically been accurate when compared to the State scales. Weight includes 190lb driver and full fuel)

Reason: Add some details...
For my first mod, I removed the FX4 and Ecoboost stickers. I'd have removed the F-150 badges too but a brother FTE member informed me there are location holes in the AL body. So they stay...for now
Good first move. I took the big *** stickers off my 2012 too. Left the Ecoboost badge though because I want people to know they got torched by a V6. Adds to the drama and fun in the real world.
Suggest you turn around the tires. White letters are aweful.

Where did you get those numbers from? Hoping they're from a scale ticket!

Not sure if the scale is certified. There's a truck scale near my house that's used by a cement factory to weigh their rigs before they hit the road. But I've compared the results in the past to the State scales and it's accurate.

Fair enough. Lots of times people take weights from the spec sheets as gospel, and those can be off by quite a bit. Were they taken with the driver in the truck?
My silver torpedo...I have an '16 SCab, with the 3.5 EB. I have the long wheelbase, long box for hauling stuff. Mine has the 502A package, plus max tow for towing my 28' travel trailer. It tows with no trouble through the mountains. Also have the large gas tank.
I have the large tow mirrors which my wife talked me into. If I was to order my truck again, I would skip the mirrors. I used them once and don't need them extended. They only got out a couple inches which I don't need. I would rather just buy a clip on tow mirror.
I've peeled the 4x4 sticker off mine as well, (debating about removing the ecoboost badge. Does that just pop off?) Line X'd the bed, added mud flaps (keeps the stuff off the front of my trailer). I also added rear wheel well liners and a tonneau cover.
The day I brought it home...
Work in progress...Bed was Line X'd and tonneau cover added within a week or so. Stickers removed and flaps/liners added later.

I hear ya, it is funny how the actual weight can vary. I was in the truck...I'll add that note to my original post
...debating about removing the ecoboost badge. Does that just pop off?...
Yes, it comes off pretty easily. Just let it get nice and warm in the sun. Both of mine were not stuck very well on the left end of the badge. So some slight up and down wiggling loosened it up after 15-20 seconds. Once the left end gave away, it was easy to slowly pull it off from there.
Thanks, Still thinking about taking the eco badge off. Would make the truck look even stealthier.
After I took the 4x4 stickers off I had someone ask me why I didn't get a 4WD truck. I told him that everyone has a 4x4, I wanted to be different. Not to mention that no one steals a 2wd truck.
And...while I really love my truck, the grill on it is ugly as hell and the long bed makes it look out of proportion.

That's funny that someone asked you about the 4x4. People are strange sometimes. And I agree about the grill. There's something about this generation that just isn't right. I think it's the flat bottom grill against the bumper, it needs some contrast.
