If you don't mind my asking, How much did it cost you?
In the Dennis Carpenter catalog the dash pad is 399.99 (for some reason it's a penny more online). They were on sale one day only on March 17th, so I got $59.99 off, shipping was $14.99.
Aw , I liked your dash pad so much, I ordered one myself. Got it the other day.
It looks like a keeper as , I mean it's one thing, I won't be sending back as it's looks like a OEM with no flaws for once
But **** poor box packing as it was put in a to large of box with out enough packing to get it from being loose and could hear and feel it sliding around inside the box As it was wrapped with green bubble wrap but you can see inside the box the way it was packed for protection for shipping.
Not to hijack your thread, or to take away from your new dashpad, which looks excellent by the way, but just to let some people, who may not have the $400 for a whole new dash pad, know that there is a less expensive option as well.
In Orange Co. CA, there is a company called Truck and Car Shop, which I believe Hio listed in his sticky of vendors, and they have a replacement "cover" for the dash pad, made of abs plastic, and comes with its own specialty adhesive.
They can be found here...Chevy Car Parts | Vintage - GMC Car, Classic Truck Parts and the price is $89 for basic black and $129 for Lt and Dk blue, Bright and dark red, light and dark gray, off white, dark green, saddle and burgundy. They can all be found on page 87 of their free catalog here....
I put the black one on my old broken and cracked dash with missing chunks, and this is how it looks now.. Just need to clean it up and it is ready to go in the truck.
Oh theirs many people selling them an all deferent prices and did not want a fake cover over mine.
Being my is 40+ yrs old.
I guess it's like some guys put out 6-8k for a body & paint work, or do it themselves paint jobs. Or head to Maco paint job for $299. special it's all what one can afford and the way we want the truck to look like when finished.
