I've got a 1997 f250 7.3 that I bought a few weeks ago and it's got some glow shift gauges and they are all hooked up except for the boost gauge. Anyone now how to hook it up without drilling a hole in my turbo?
Are the glow shift mechanical or electrical? Because the guy that installed the gauges didn't do it very well and I can't find any wire or house coming from the firewall for the boost gauge

He probably bought the glowshift kit like i did and never hooked the boost gauge up. Probably just slid the gauge into place so it wouldn't be empty.
I think there's three wires coming from the back of the boost gauge, a switched 12v and then a trigger wire that tells the gauge the headlights came on and it dims the gauge brightness 30%, and then a ground.
As for the actual boost, it's mechanical. There's a small line that runs (or should be run) from the back of the gauge to wherever you're tapping into for boost pressure.

Thank you, I'll look for the hose or wire for the gauge tomorrow
only problem with that is I've heard it doesn't read accurately and only reads to a certain amount
I don't know how it would read only some. The nipple is not restricted. There are plenty that hook theirs up like that. If that's not correct then how would the map accurately tell PCM the fueling strategy under boost?
I personally tig'g a boss into my outlet pipe from the turbo. Not everyone has that ability tho so I did not suggest it.

Yeah I'm looking to keep it simple cause I don't want to mess anything up.
Where exactly is my map sensor?
