Had my 2016 Lariat 2 days and went to the shopping centre twice with the dog in the back seat. Both times came back to the horn alarm going. How do I turn off the motion sensor alarm and just get plain old door locking? Help!! Too much technology.
Not necessarily. In Advanced Settings/Vehicle, you can select either all sensors or perimeter sensing, or ask on exit. If you're commonly leaving the dogs inside, ask on exit is probably the best option. As soon as you turn the truck off, you can use the up/down arrows on the steering wheel to select the appropriate mode for that cycle.
ok so I found the setting under VEHICLE ADVANCED SETTINGS.
It gives me 3 choices:
-Perimeter
-All Sensors and
-prompt every time.
Perimeter cures the problem by turning off the motion sensor, but the next engine start causes it to default back to All Sensors, thereby reactivating the motion sensor.
Does anyone know if the dealer can change the default to "Perimeter" so we don't have to pay attention to this each time we leave the dog in the truck?
German Shepherds stick like glue to their masters...she owns the truck, gets a ride to the park for exercise most days, and on the way back we often stop for short errands. ;-)
I have to say that I would like the "perimeter only" option to be available as a default. Have had the pooch in there a couple times, and the alarm goes off. Didn't realize the setting didn't stay on as a default. Thought I was loosing my marbles. Guess I'll set it to prompt me every time. Might be a major pain, time will tell.

Thats all it’s for, so dog owners can lock up their truck!! Ask on exit if your a dog owner!!
