1965 - 66 cab interchangeability

Is the cab of a 1965 F100 with the door step, the same as a 1966 F250 with the door step? How about the inner fender wells?

Cab (door) step, visible when the doors are opened:

1961/64 all; 1965 F100/250 4WD; 1965/66 F350/1100 / 1966 F250 4WD

No cab step: 1965/66 F100/250 2WD; 1966 F100 4WD

Bill do you know why ford changed the 66 4WD to a no step cab?
Seems like a lot of mucking around for a 1 year truck. I know they had the 'correct' style side bed but again, just for 1 year seems a bit pointless.
