I've been doing a lot of system flushes. Its been going on for weeks. I just keep getting rusty chunks of iron. I want to make sure I get them all before my next oil cooler install. I installed one prematurely and it stopped right up. Back flushes has helped but ultimately it will probably need to be done again. That reality has set in.
The question I have currently is sometimes I get drops of coolant that appear to be coming from the waterpump. However, sometimes it doesn't appear to be leaking at all. It might leak a half gallon one night and the next night it might be no drops or or just a cup. What might cause this?
Thanks for any insight.
Waterlogged
Often after coolant changes and a flush, the freeze seal will let go. Mine did about 3 days after the flush, poured from the freeze plug hole, hard to see and in the back side hidden by the pulley bolted to the pump.
