A couple weeks ago I mentioned a coolant leak and thought it was coming from the water pump. I do think I have a small pump leak but I'm dumping coolant at a significant rate elsewhere. My truck is about 5 hours away right now...Yesterday I was under it but didn't have a jack or ramps to raise it high enough to get into a position to find the leak.
I'm getting a substantial drip, when running only, that seems to originate on the passengers side to some extent. The leak is further back than the waterpump/front of engine and soaks the front suspension.
I'm thinking it is the oil cooler, but there are no oil leaks. There is no coolant in the oil, no oil in the coolant.
I'm not completly aware of how the coolers are plumbed and if it is possible to have one side of the circuit leak and not the other....?
Oil cooler is on the drivers side. It can be the the thermostat housing or even the radiator hose where it connects, heater hoses are also a possibility.
I will say this if you know your pump is leaking I would fix it first and see if that doesnt dry it up.
The fan and the air can do weird things with water.
