That's the way I did it, all eight were out. The motor wouldn't spin over fast enough if they weren't all out.

Hey I'm just glad y'all are around for me to learn from instead of doing it like I assume it should be done and breaking stuff.

Well... Got one bank of injectors out. The o rings look ok but the tips are really really caked up with black crap... I'm planning on taking a steel brush and steel wool with pb blaster to get it off.. Anyone know of a better way?

Well, as much as I would LOVE to put some 1.5s in this sucker, the motor these injectors are going in is going in my mud truck... soooo I don't want to be worried about EGTs going through a mud hole. Also, I doubt I could do a budget rebuild on these like I did on the ones for Charlee... $1200 just isn't in the cards right now.

Maybe when I finally get that S366 I've been drooling over, I will step up the injectors in Charlee and put the stage 1s in the mud truck... Time will tell

DO NOT USE A STEEL BRUSH!!!! You will ruin the tips, use a piece of hard wood if you really think you need to clean them. Something small you can scrap the tips with, but if you can see the nozzle holes there is really nothing you can do on the outside to clean them....

I ended up using a plastic bristled brush to clean them. Worked just fine and didn't leave any gouges that I could see. Here is a pic of what they looked like when I pulled them... What could cause this? Or is this normal?? I can't remember what the ones out of Charlee looked like when I pulled them

And here is what I believe to be the source of the oil in my fuel bowl....

Four injectors had pink o rings that looked just about like this.

Byron was right... the second time pulling injectors is way easier!

Theres the oil in fuel problem, as for what makes the injector tips look like that I think its because theres excessive timing or low compression, but not 100% on that answer.

7.3s don't make very good mud trucks. The engine weighs 1000 lbs. and they tend to sink like a rock! LOL!

Yeah I know... I've been thinking long and hard about what to do with the spare motor I have. Brownie isn't worth putting a good motor in, it won't fit in my civic, so all I've got left is the 76 f250 future mud truck. That might change at some point, we will have to see!
