I'm replacing the 4.6 in a 2003 F150, I bought a local crown vic engine. The injectors on the truck are pink, dont' know if they were red don't have them out yet. The other engine is stripped to long block and ready for swapping parts. The injectors from the car manifold are thin and orange. Not the fatter/rounder type on truck. Teach me about injectors, what's the difference? Which set would you use?
WOW $109 each injector? Dam glad only two broke. They were really stuck and the cap on the end broke off and seems to have damaged part of the injector.
I'm saving this truck from turning to junk. It sat on a farm under some trees for a few years. Took manifold off yesterday. Had pounds of shells left by critters, plugs had lots of corrosion down on top of them even though everything was still in place. Once I got intake off I could see front pass side intake guide was broken or came out of head. It had slid down valve. Who knows what else is wrong. Does not matter I just like to investigate. Worst thing for this truck was letting it just rot under trees for those years.
