I was just wondering about the number 8 injector.
why is it called an LL or long lead injector. I inquired about it in an auction, and the guy said it was an AE code.
is it any larger then the AD ones in the rest of the engine.
if its bigger, then can you use the AE in all cylinders with programming.
AE and AF injectors are essentially the same as AD injectors but were called a long lead injector that was used as an attempt to cure a "cackle" issue many people complained about.if you have done a RR...you can get rid of that injector and put in another AD
You can also help get rid of the crackle with a FRx kit from Clay at RiffRaff performance. He has a fuel crossover rail for evening the distribution of fuel and to help eliminate the lack of fuel to #8 that Ford tried to fix using the LL injector.
The amount of fuel injected is the same, but AE inject more fuel in first, or lead, injection event. I suppose you could run all AE injectors.
This is the info I was lookign for. Thanks
Im not going to do the frx because I have all the stuff for a complete awesome RR fuel system. 3/4 pickup, 3/4" to 20 and 5micron filters and prepump, 1/2 to high pressure bosch pump, 3/8 to engine, 3/8 return.
should support more then double the hp ill ever be able to afford.
I need to look and see if i have the AE number 8 injector, then go from there. I found an ebay auction selling 8 ADs individually, sold for 20 bucks shipped each. I should have just gotten one.
