I removed my Titan tank from my 2014 and installed it on my 2016. Problem is my dealer is telling me they are not able to adjust the DTE calculation to accommodate the new tank in the 2016 model yet. They did it on my 2014 when I bought it in 2014 however . Does this seem odd to anyone?
They need to change the tank size via the IDS/VCM-II. The tank size is what the DTE uses to perform its calculations.
It is a programmable parameter of the instrument panel cluster.
This is a screen shot from the 2016 Ford Service DVD.
I can't quite make out that page , but I understand it requires the new tank size , but they are saying they can't get into that area in the '16 model ? Frustrating
I called a third dealer to ask the same question. They assured me it can't be done on a diesel, when I told them my 14 was done he said " you must be thinking of something else " another dealer to strike off my list of contacts!!!
