engine swap conversion

1972 f100 2x4 dual I beam 302. Currently has factory block which is almost at the end of its life. I found an engine out of a 91 mustang. 302 HO. Converting over to carburetor and to work with my transmission I have handled. As far as I know. Main question now is the oil pans are different. Am I able to just swap pans or is there more than that I need to replace internally because the differences in the pan?
Prior research I have done on this swap. Correct me if I am wrong or missing anything. I will need to swap intake, timing cover and water pump, distributor, and the harmonic balancer/ fly wheel to have correct balance and fitment to torque converter.

Just swap pans and oil pump pickups as they are different also. No biggie. I just put a '90 GT motor in my '89 F150 2wd. Same basic scenario, pan/pickup, timing cover/pump, intake as I put a carb on it also.

I'm a stick shift kinda guy so not sure how the flexplates work on engine balance. I would just use the stuff from the 91 motor. Not sure if AOD is the same pattern as C4 torque converter? Again, I don't play with that stuff to know.

Only reason I have to swap flex plate is the c4 uses a 157 tooth and aid is 164. And the 72 flex has a 0oz imbalance vs newer use a 50oz.

Older (pre-1981) 302/5.0L engines had a 28 oz imbalance harmonic balancer and flexplate/flywheel. From '81-'01 the 5.0L engines had a 50 oz imbalance. You cannot mix and match balance weights of the harmonic balancer and the flexplate/flywheels. They have to match.

If you will be running an automatic, you'll be fine .....but, if you ever switched to a manual transmission, there won't be a hole drilled and tapped on the left rear corner of the block for a manual Z-bar pivot but, you can get a pivot bracket that will bolt onto two of the bellhousing bolts to take care of this with a mechanical clutch linkage setup.
