One more little detail worth noting is to check around for prices on the sockets. I found over a $20 difference for the same socket at different parts stores.
Just frustrating I have been at this for 2 weeks and can't get this locknut off this truck. bought 3 sockets none fit. Don't know how to solve this, and I guess no one knows around here just incredible and frustrating
My truck had factory auto hubs that's had been changed to Manuel hubs. The lock nut wasn't changed over on mine either. Once I got the right size hubs, I had to replace the lock nuts or the hubs wouldn't had fit on enough to get the snap ring on. I had to order the 350 parts to fit on my 250. Go figure...
I had to take the truck to a repair garage to get the F#ing hubs off. I hate to do that but had no choice.
My hubs are manual and have always been manual. I find it weird nobody in Phoenix knows the correct locknut wrench for this truck. They all look at you like it's a part for a spaceship or something. Ford didn't even know WOW!
All that just to replace rotors. So I bought 5 wrenches total from autozone,Oreilly's. Napa and none where right and none had a set for loan or rent, just crazy!
Nothing weird about the truck, standard Dana 60 4x4 hub as shown here http://www.thedieselstop.com/faq/949...e=stjs53cr.htm for the manual locking hub.
Tool # D85T-1197-A is another mystery.... Crazy just crazy...sorry guys rant over
Thanks to all the fine forum members for their help with this many, many Thanks!

This is my first brake job on this truck at 80K miles. I need to get my rotors off so I can have them turned because one of the pads just got into the rotor before I noticed there was no pad remaining.
Got recommendations on replacement pads?
I need to remove the inner nut in the hubs.
I have a 1997 F350 4x4, OEM straight axle with auto locking hubs.
How do I find out what axe I have?
Is it a Dana 60?
Can anyone confirm the hex socket wrench size and where I can get it?
I plan to rework the calipers, pulling the pistons and replacing the seals and dust boots. I will also replace the hoses. All I can find are hoses from Skyjacker. My truck has a reverse spring shackle kit on the front so the effective lift is about 3-4 inches above OEM.
Where can I find braided stainless hoses a little longer than OEM?
I have the dana 50 on my 1996 F250 4x4 HD with manual hubs. I have seen some reviews that this PowerBuilt 648477 socket apparently works for the spindle nut.
