I have '79 Bronco that I am trying to get ready for the trails. The NP-203 transfer case is not working, and I am assuming it needs a new chain. I know that swapping to the NP-205 t-case would be the best thing to do, but I am doing this on a tight budget and a limited amount of time. I have repaired numerous things on this truck in the last week, and the t-case is the only thing keeping me off the trails now. I would really like to wheel this beast over Labor Day weekend. So, here are a few questions to begin the process.
Is this a fairly straight forward process? Can it be done without entirely removing the t-case? Do I need any special tools? Who makes the best chain, and where do I get it? What is a reasonable price for the chain?
