So I just don't have any luck with anything turbo related. Last time it was my intercooler that went out. Now the passenger side intercooler tube keeps popping off and the damn clamp is broken so I can't tghten back up to even get me to the damn truck stop. I guess it could be worse...it could be late at night and raining...oh what, it is.
According to Google, there is a TA truck stop at exit 68, as well as a RV Park. If you can limp it to there, you may be good for the evening until you can find a clamp.
I have had a boot split on me, you should still be able to limp along, but it will be way under power and slow...
Could you steel a clamp from the intake side (if there is one, I don't know your setup...)? That may allow you to limp the few miles to the truck stop.
Twitch, can you limp it to a shopping center or something with a big parking lot and call it a night? That way in the AM, you can unhook and limp it to a parts store or shop.
Used temp clamp, jammed the hose on and limped the 2 miles. Handed the stripped clamp to the shop and said I need a new one and give me an extra just in case. I now have ones off freightliner.... It should hold. Thanks for the help guys.
Clean both sides good with brakeclean...then spray the inside of the hose and the turbo outlet with hairspray. I've had this exact problem on a few 6.0's. It is beyond maddening.
