Hi there, I a m looking for that part of a 1978 standard steering wheel which is shown below. Here in Germany are not to much guys I can ask for help or parts but maybe someone out there can help.
Thanks
Andreas
Thanks, I hoped that someone can help me just with the plastic part, the soft top part I do have and it is great. Maybe someone does have a used plastic part.....
I have a few spares, unless you want to go with a new reproduction one? Dennis Carpenter's stuff is top of the line in reproduction and well worth the $$.
Let me dig some out and get a few pics for you this weekend. Wie klingt das?
Ok here is what is on the shelf, most of the ones I have are CC ones and only 3 are none CC. 2 of those have the grey plastic trim piece attached on the front and only one does not have the plactic piece, but the Ford symbol is not there.
No matter, since all you need is the back side anyway. Does yours have any part or Ford engineering # on it like the one in the pic. 13K802 by chance?
I will PM you and we can discuss prices and go from there.
Oh, great!
I do not have the part in hand to check for a number but will do on monday and let you know. As far as I can see on the last 2 pics this is much to wide. The part should be "less wide", exactly as in the exploded view numberdummy attached. It should fit "in" the steering wheel, the one shown will cover the it. I will post more pics on monday.
I'll have a look here at the pick n pull this week. If there is one that is in good shape, I'll pick it up. Does it need to be black? The one I have in my truck is white, but the rubber part wraps around it so you don't really see it. Let me know if that will work, or if you are specifically wanting it in black.
Your thread said you have a 78 truck, so the parts and pics I got are for a 78/79 truck. If you need the skinny horn bar like in ND pic, then you have a 73-mid 77 style steering wheel.
I have 2 73-77 steering columns with the shinny horn bar and cover, I'll get some pics of them tomorrow.
