Steering Wheel Repair

Does anybody have any experience with repairing the cracks in an original steering wheel. I priced a OEM steering wheel from LMS @ $369.00 and that is way to much.

Here are some pictures of what I am talking about.

On older models (1970 & earlier) I used JB Weld. Took a long time and my fingers were sore as hell for a while but it never cracked after that.

yes I read about epoxy and it has me sold. Next question, whats the best paint ?? Something that isn't going to wear off in a few months of handling. My older ones are steering by armstrong (no power steering)
