Alright, I got the truck back. The shop owner says that my edge CTS is wrong. He hooked up his own scanner and he said it read completely differently. I dont see how that is possible, but he has to warranty his work if my truck explodes so I am tempted to believe him.
He got 197 ECT and 201 EOT at operating temps he said....
My question is now, is that possible? For my Edge to read the EOT wrong, and ONLY the EOT wrong... I drove from shop to work and ECT was safe temp 192 and EOT read again at 226ish. This time I checked my dial gauge on the cluster and the EOT needle was at just under the halfway mark the entire time. So that may defend him, but I read we cant trust the meter on our cluster. At what point does the meter work?
This cant be a sensor issue, right? Because he read just fine when he hooked up his own scanner.
This is annoying as hell. The only thing I changed on the truck is I added a back up cam to the edge CTS. could that have triggered something internal on the EDGE?!
That other temp gauge on the dash is trans temp. I guess the CTS could be having a brain cramp for some reason but I think in this case I wouldn't be completely comfortable until I got a third opinion.

Yeah, it is just so weird. Been a massive headache. I want to drive in peace...goodness sakes. I have it studded so it should be able to handle higher temps if he was wrong anyways. (I think that is a correct assumption). Im not towing anymore for a while
Hey guys, because my oil cooler is so new...do you think a backflush procedure would work? I am convinced this shop is just full of it.
I can't possibly reason how only the EOT would be read wrong by the EDGE. If the sensor was bad, that is one thing, but he scanned it himself, so he is using the same sensor.
I'm thinking the shop didn't do a sustained 65mph run. at idle, even a bad oil cooler will still make the oil temps close to the coolant temps.
something isn't right here.
I agree...how do you tell a stubborn older gentleman, who is supposed to be the professional, that they made a mistake? I was trying to be respectful as possible, but because he owns my warranty, it's almost like walking on glass. I even offered to go to the shop and drive around and bring it back when it got warm, and he literally replied with "no..." and then silence.
Please please please...if you guys hear of anyone trying to use Global Offroad and Diesel in Raleigh, NC...turn them away.

Have you at least tried to get another scanner reading on those temps? I would want to know for sure what's going on before I started driving her around.
