Fuel hose size

Can someone tell me the fuel hose size that's along the frame on my 79 F 250? I bought 3/8 hose but when attaching it to the steel tubing along the frame it's way too small. I'm sure 1/2 hose would be too big. Is there anything in between? Thanks

Last week I replaced the rubber fuel lines on my truck, they were 3/8 of an inch. Fit perfectly on to the steel tubing

I have a 76 F150

My 75 F250 w/460 uses 3/8 hose. It may be that the hose needs to be warmed to install easier. Try dipping into cup of hot water.

I just read fuel injection hose is a tighter fit. Didn't know that.

Yeah... cuz its burst pressure is like 300 PSI or more... whereas a carb's rubber hose only has to anticipate less than 10 PSI under typical applications.
