What would cause shift stacking

I fit into a couple of these,

my speedo does not jump around, and my ABS light is not on, but it does shift very hard into second.

The dealer would not typically do this. Is the speedometer and odometer reading correctly? i.e. at 60 MPH are you really going 60?

That's not much, but it can be tweaked to bring it in closer using the info in the link. It takes some math, but simple to do once you figure out the constant value.
