Was just looking on the web for ball joints for 01 f250 superduty 4x4 looked at Advance Auto all 4 for 270.00 also came across Moog at Walmart for 149.00 same part number and Moog brand. Anyone dealt with this. Moog brand same part number should be same thing right. I know usually can find discounts for Advance Auto for 50.00. Still looks like a good deal.
Most Moog parts are now made in China. I have found Raybestos Professional Grade parts to be the best--Both Quality & price. I think they are also lifetime warranty--both parts & labor. They are made in the USA by Spicer.
It will be the same. But, I found MOOG gets their parts from multiple manufacturer. So you may get parts made from different countries.
Price difference is just because Advance Auto Parts prices higher. Probably about same at Autozone and Napa as well.
Got mine at Rockauto and was fairly cheap. Around $30 each.
I personally have never had an issue with MOOG parts. Check rock auto for a price though. They will be the best price probably, and they also warranty for the lifetime warranty.
With all the reports Moogs have had with memory steer I decided not to use them when mine needed replaced. I used Motorcraft uppers and Raybestos Pro lowers, all greaseable. Have been one several years now and still working good with no memory steer.
I did buy the Moog swaybar endlinks with the gushert bearings and they are quality parts. Made in the USA too. But they are also not cheap. It just pisses me off paying premium prices for stuff made in china so I try to avoid it.
I've always had good luck with moog, but as anything with internet reviews, many more people write complaints than praise.
BTW- Never buy ANYTHING at Advance without doing it on-line and picking up in-store. Find a coupon code for usually 30-40 percent off easily online, set up a speed perks rewards account and you can stack them together for more savings. I buy everything, even touch up paint online, it's usually ready to pick up by the time I do the 10 minute drive.
I've always had good luck with MOOG suspension parts. They like every other manufacturer and reboxer like NAPA go out for competitive bids. When you see that Made in USA you may be getting an item that was only assembled here of parts produced 'elsewhere'. The world's products international now, not country unique. That replacement 110V switch on my '11 - made in China. That OEM stereo - same thing, etc, etc, etc.
Another vote for Raybestos Professional Grade ball joints. I haven't driven mine very much since the install but they've gotten rave reviews from the 4 wheeler groups.

^^^^ This
I went through several... yes several... sets of Moogs on my old truck, the longest one went was 40,000 miles before needing replacement, the others were toast in 20,000-30,000. Mind you the truck did have a 6" lift on it, so there was extra stress.
However, when I switched to the Raybestos I never had to swap them again. Much better product.
XRF's are another good brand. They are pricier than the Raybestos but definitely worth a consideration, especially for lifted trucks.
