Was replacing the injectors on a 2003. It was going great till number 6. Seems it's stuck. Won't budge and no way to get it out. Any one know a way to get it out? Any and all help!
I think Anthony had to pull one out on a truck he had in his shop
with a slide-hammer that he setup. I would expect some problems
when you get it out.
Also very carefully check for broken parts from the hold-down bolt retainer
clips. They have a habit of falling into the valve box and making there way
down into the oil pan only to be sucked up with oil and do nasty things to
the gear-rotor pump. Is the hold-down still in place? If yes place something
in the two oil returns on each side to keep parts from going down the hole
when you pull on it. By the time you do get it out it will be a core injector that
is for sure. Then once it out you will need to really clean the cup so that there
is nothing left behind from what ever was making it stick.
It would be a very good idea to replace that hold-down at this point.
Can you post some photos of what your dealing with?
And when you do pull on it make sure that you pull straight in line with the injector
in the bore. Off angle will only make is want to stay in it's hole.
You could try bumping it over with the starter. 18to1 compression ratio makes a good bit of pressure. Be safe and stand clear.
Might work. I have popped off heads that were stuck on a gas engine that way.
But like I said above be sure to plug all the oil return holes so that no small parts
go down into the bock. Then account for all parts before removing the plugs. The
hold-down bolt had a clip that is known to crack and drop bits. This is the type of
small parts your watching for.
