Ahhh.... I wasted most of the day! I had it off and it was perfect today to work outside with the nice cloud cover and somewhat cools temps.... I was just so tired from this weekend painting my brother's truck, then doing the Easter family thing I had to take a long nap!
I got some work done though, but not nearly as much as I should have! Apparently it's supposed to rain by the end of this week as well! At least down in the Phoenix area from what my friends have told me.
It was but it made it perfect for sanding down my truck for paint! I didn't get it finished though.. still have at least 1/2 or more sanding to do... Hopefully the rest of this week will be a little cooler than it's been so I can finish this painting prep work.
Haha I guess it is hump day. I only have a lab course in the morning so I have the rest of the day off! Oh the joys of not working during my last semester in college! I'll need to pick up a job soon after graduating though, but it can only be a temp job since I'll be leaving for the Air Force around December-February.
It is again super nice out here on the East side of Phoenix! Perfect temperature to do more painting prep on the Bronco.... I can't want until all the sanding is done!

You are doing a diesel swap on your bronco right? what is the plan for the old 302? I might be interested in the heads on it (the AFRs) as I am going to build my 351 in my 83.

Well I haven't quite figured out what I want to do with the motor and transmission yet. I was considering selling them, but wasn't 100% sure yet (for worst case scenario something pops up where I'll need to be emission compliant somewhere and I'll have to throw the old motor back in but that would be terrible.)
If I do sell the stuff, I could see about taking the heads off the motor and putting my old heads back on since I still have those laying around.
I'm hoping I'll get to pull everything this weekend. I want the Bronco painted this weekend which means I'll have to have at least the motor pulled to paint the engine bay so I'll have to find out what to do with the parts soon after.
A diesel engine bronco would be cool.
What size diesel engine?
Is the front end weight an issue?
Well thank you. It's a 7.3 powerstroke engine that's going in. I'm currently keeping my stock axles until I can get enough funds to pay for a solid axle swap (dana 60) in the front because I don't have a welder for the work required (and don't know if I would trust my welding skills for that either.)
As for weight being an issues.. I haven't figured out yet. I have a rancho 4" lift that I'm going to keep, so I have to figure out how much the sag will occur with the engine installed. It weights about 1000 pounds I believe when the 302 is shy of 500 if I remember correctly. Apparently, 4" coil springs for diesel engines aren't made. I'm looking at getting coil spring spacers to set the ride height back to the 4" lift until I swap out the axles, I just have to know how much it will sag at first.
