Noise only when turning
I am at wits end trying to figure out a noise. It sounds like a drop of water hitting the top of an empty metal can. A metallic clunk type sound.
It only happens when you make a sharp turn. Such as when making a fast turn into a parking space.
I did some right turn laps around a large rectangular building tonight. It made the noise at the first turn. Then never again until I switched direction and started making left hand turns. Again only heard the noise on the first turn.
Over the past year I have rebuilt the front end. All new ball joints. All new tie rods. New radius arm bushings. New pivot bushings in the I beams. New radiator support bushings. New engine mounts on both sides.
I am at wits end. Anything else I could have overlooked?
Thanks in advance.
That section of frame can crack, and the rivets loosen and should be replaced with bolts and a UHMW-PE sheet to stop the noise.
There are a couple TSB's on it.
I'm going to be checking mine soon (and probably replacing as well)

I will have to look into this a bit more. Last time I checked, things looked pretty solid. Do I need to jack up the front end to remove the "load" in order to check the rivets?
I think they say something about sounding them with a hammer to listen for loose ones. Or just replace them now and eliminate the possibility.
It can also be the trans mounts needing to be re-torqued, that one's all over google results.
