Best 6.0 bulletproof kit?
Best 6.0 bulletproof kit?
Hello guys, I've got a customer at the shop who has an 06 F-250 with a 6.0. He wants new head gaskets and some of the other known issues addressed right away. I know what has to be done to bullet proof it for the most part and I was wondering if anyone has bought just a kit that included everything. I've been looking around and I think I'm going to go with this kit.
Does anyone see anything wrong with it? Or perhaps know of a better option?
Seems like a very good deal and has all the right stuff. I don't know what they mean by "upgraded oil cooler" - I think a new Ford oil cooler is all that is necessary (maybe they mean the stainless screen mesh). I personally prefer the bulletproof EGR cooler (bulletproofdiesel.com) to a delete - it does not require programming. I guess make sure those are OEM head gaskets too - Huge waste to risk all that labor on aftermarket gaskets (they have a higher failure rate). Pretty nice to have it all in one kit like that

You should start your own thread instead of copy/pasting the same post into three existing threads, that way you don't take other people's threads off topic.
Old cap, or overfilled coolant will cause a leak. Get a new Motorcraft or Stant cap and put it on, then check that you're running the updated coolant level on this sticker and not what the bottle itself has marked (this is puking BTW, a drop really isn't a huge problem):
