Sensor Cleaning

Stupid question time

Just want to get it all in one place for posterity and all

Cleaning sensors:

EBP: Remove sensor and remove carbon carefully with string trimmer line or straight pick (don't puncture diaphragm). Remove tube, spray with carb cleaner, and "rod" out with string trimmer line.

MAP: replace hose. Clean sensor carefully with something soft, q tip and no chemicals?

MAF/IAT2: spray with MAF cleaner. follow instructions on can, maybe clean element with 90% isoporpyl alcohol on a q-tip carefully

BARO: leave it alone?

IAT: spray it with MAF cleaner. typically replace if it's really causing issues?

ECT/EOT: spray with alcohol to remove oil. swap or replace as needed

Cam/Crank: replace

ICP: replace

Other than Cam and Crank sensor or ICP, which I have no experience, sounds right to me. I have done sensor cleaning several times when problem solving a bad EGR. One thing I would worry about is your pick comment, on the EBP, I would not pick at it at all, only rinse with MAF cleaner and let air dry, it takes more shots of cleaner but it does come off and come clean, at first it just looks like it won't ever come clean. I have cleaned mine twice and it's still working. For what that's worth.

I only use carb cleaner as I figure it is actually made to be used in conjuction with engine parts.
