MAF sensor cleaning question

is it ok to use Gumout carb and choke cleaner to clean the MAF?
it said it was safe for o2 sensors but not recommended for FI engines.

hmm... i have heard that there is a cleaner you can get for the MAF, course it could just be hear-say.... I would try checking the aerosal section of your local autozone or oriely's

And be careful. It is sensitive and expensive to replace.

Gumout is fine; be very careful if you use electrical contact cleaner. Some have lubricant in them which will attract dirt/grime and will cause problems down the road. Just use Gumout or brake cleaner to get around the concern, or use these products after using electrical contact to remove the lubricant they may contain.
