With the new F150 model coming out in 2004, does anyone know the plan for the F250 and F350 redesign? I want to order a 2004 F250 TD but don't want to order if the body style and interior is going to be completely redesigned for 2005.
Speculation is that new sheetmetal won't be out until '07.
There are some possible mechanical design changes for '05. One Internet report said the front suspension will be a solid axle with coil springs vs the current leaf spring setup.
I can't wait till then, my 5.4 is not enough to get me into my tavel plans for not that long, I guess if the 6.0 gets better soon or maybe v10, I'll only waite till Jan.04.
The design really isn't that different, I decided it wasn't worth waiting the extra year. Plus, it looks just like minor front end changes. so it probably will be easy to retro fit the '04 model with the '05 front end when it come out.
there doesn't seem to be much difference in the 2005 model...I'm more interested in the rumors I've heard for models around '07 or '08 where they might go with a IFS front like the chebbies. Thats when I want to pick up one of the last models with the D60 front end and hopefully have it be the first AND LAST new truck I ever buy.
That interrior posted above looks identical to my 2003 f250.
If they swith to IFS front like chevy's, I will never buy another. The reason I bought the f250 superduty was because of its' colid front axle and leafs all way round. I am in the auto repair business and the IFS heavy duty trucks eat ball joints and tie rod end like there is no tomarrow.
