2005 Staggered Rear Shocks

2005 Staggered Rear Shocks
I noticed a lifted 2005 at a shop I work by, it had Staggered rear shocks. My 2004 has the 2 rear shocks both on the back side. Was this a new redesign for 2005, along with the front coils?

I have a 2005 and am not entirely sold on the staggered stock set-up. Certain highway speed bump situations produce a wicked rearend step-out that I can only attribute to the staggered shocks. I believe the advantage to the set-up is on washboard or uniformly rutted surfaces.
