54 F100 in pieces, NOS fenders, Arizona cab in PA
Don't worry this is not my truck, and I have no connection to the seller other than I called him about the fenders. I found this ad in the local Auto Connection paper.
"Arizona cab, doors, bedsides, grille, NOS front and rear fenders in original wrappers, 6 cyl., original cab also but rusty. $6,200 OBO, 814-761-0634, Clarion, PA."
Clarion is just off I-80 about 68 miles from the Ohio line and 77 miles from Youngstown, OH.
I called him to see if he wanted to sell the fenders. He said no, he wants to sell it all at once.

Good question, I know I can spot reproduction running boards at 50 feet. DC "claims" that they are "exact as original" but they are not. I will try to post some pics of the differences

You know my truck is in the body shop right now. Rather than have my body man fix the rust over my headlight of my original front fender, to save his time and my money I bought a repop. It looked good. It felt strong and thick. This week I brought my original one home. The difference in weight between it and the repop was quite noticeable.

Hmmm, maybe it's good I am making do with my running boards instead of buying repops.

Abe...as in the repop fender was lighter?
What brand was it? I know that midfifty sells or did sell two brands of front fenders. One was Blue oval, and I can't remember the brand of the one I bought. It is a better fender than the Blue Oval ones. Heavier and shaped better. I am now having trouble finding a mate though..........

I bought it from Mid West Early Ford when I was at Carlisle last spring. I think they said it was the same gauge as original. I don't know the brand. I will have to check their catalog again. My body man has not complained to me about fit.

OK I'm not interested in the $6200 truck. I talked to the seller and in around 1978 he bought the 4 fenders from FORD, but, the fronts are wrapped in paper that say service replacement and they are FIBERGLASS. this is not the first time I have run into this. Just last week a friend of mine bought a front fender wrapped in the ford paper and it too is a fiberglass fender
