Hey guys, anyone by chance taken this part out of their truck, my speaker is cracking bad at low volume, thinking maybe I can play with the wires some.
Just wondering if there is any clips on this part, before I knock off a six pack and go caveman on it. LOL
Never took a look at mine. On my 08 I had that problem and it turned out to be the head unit. In my case if I turned the volume up just a touch the noise would go away for a while.
If the panel is on like my other Fords there a a couple screws by the door handle that you need to remove. Then just slide the panel straight up, don't try to pull it away from the door. It has to slide straight up. Good Luck.
Is it the tweeter in the A pillar or the door speaker that is giving you problems? The plug for the tweeter is easily accessible by pulling the side panel on the dash where the HVAC duct connects to the door. You can unplug it and see if that is your issue. The door speaker will require the removal of the door panel and if that is the case I would watch some youtube videos. The door panel isn't hard to remove but to access the different bolts(8mm and 6mm iirc) there are some tricks.(well, really the only tricky one is the bolt hidden behind the door handle.)
Hey, thanks for the tips guys..........im not sure what the problem is , it seems like its coming from that little speaker deal on the a pillar........my wife drives the truck, she just turns it up, no issues of course........I use it maybe once a week, and its driving me nuts. LOL
