Does anybody know if the tire pressure sensors from the wheels off of another same year f250 are compatible with mine or do they need to be programed to mine.... I've got the opportunity to buy a set of factory take offs of the style I wanted but couldn't get on mine without special ordering and I'm curious if they will just swap mine for his with no issue or do they need to be linked/programed to mine.
I don't think you have to program anything. I've purchased winter tires and rims with tpms valves from non-Ford places and just stuck them on the vehicles; they've always recognized them. May take a few drive cycles (ie: may get the tpms error message a few times, but then it stops for good).
I bought a set of factory wheels for my 2007 Mustang from a friend. They still had the factory TPMS on them. He had a tool to program them and make them work on my car.
I don't think you can just put them on your truck and have them work. You'll need a tool to reset them like in this link below. Check that the application will work for you if you decide to buy one. But I think most tire shops can set you up if you don't want to buy one.
