What years 302 / 5.0 L long blocks will fit a 92 f-150 with a 5.0 L. I have one that is questionable. I do have a 1990 5.0 L from a Crown Vic I would like to use if I need to swap out the engine.
The 5.0 block "officially" became roller ready in 1987 but the Mustang got a roller cam a couple years earlier. That means any 5.0 built form '87 on could have a roller cam but many didn't, mustangs got it in '85, other cars in '88 or '89, trucks not until '92, and note there were several different roller cams used in these motors over the years. The 5.0HO found in Stangs and some T-birds and Lincolns got the biggest cam, Crown Vics, Towncar and early truck roller motors got the smallest cam, later truck motors and the Explorer 5.0 got a much improved RV cam that is only slightly smaller than the HO cam.
