Time has a way of doing that.

Discovered today that my truck has a warning beep for the parking brake, if you attempt to drive with it engaged. The parking valet at our veterinarian only half-assed set it (yes, our vet has valet parking LOL). Got about 30 feet and the beeping started.

Only 10 years to learn about it.

Being on the Board of a nation-wide animal rescue, I deal with veterinarians all over the country on frequent basis.

I have NEVER heard of one with valet parking!

Details?

I have never heard of such a thing. Of course, I never go to the vet, so that would explain why. LOL

Pop, their parking was really bad, and they were outgrowing the building. They are building a new facility now, which made the parking situation even worse during construction, so they hired a valet company to keep things organized. The valets do a good job of shuffling the vehicles around in the available space, plus if they have to park down the street in a neighboring lot, they will jog down there and back. I find it very convenient, and well worth it for a couple of bucks in tip.

In chatting with folks, apparently some customers really hate dealing with the valets, and others like myself like it. I suspect some have not bothered asking, so they don't even know that it is only temporary.

Washington Animal Hospital, on Washington Blvd in Whittier. I really like this vet. A bunch of doctors available, although they will keep you with one if you prefer, which we do. Even so, the other available docs means the place can be open broader hours, and if you have an urgent need someone can see you.

Bocephus likes the place, but then, he likes everyone and every place. He had his 4th chemo session yesterday. Just one more to go in the treatment plan. He is doing well and seems happy doing what dogs do.

Glad his spirits are maintaining, 'cause chemo really kicks some dogs' butts, and they take a drastic drop.

Hope so, my lawn was pathetic before the current watering ban in Pasadena. I watered some stuff anyway as it was looking bad, but have kept the sprinklers off.

With miles and miles of new irrigated freeway and light rail line landscaping, I am not inclined to let my lawn go to dirt. That plus I read an article the other day about all the new almond tree acreage, not to mention growing cotton in CA and selling alfalfa to the Chinese.......

And another thing--Pasadena sends us these "where you rank" reports, telling us that we use more electricity than our "more efficient neighbor". Hey, I know the neighbor. He is a single guy, lives alone, is as frugal as can be BECAUSE HE HAS BEEN OUT OF WORK FOR YEARS, so it's not like he's going to burn his savings running the air when he's out of town for days at a time.... These reports were especially galling when we had the kids--4 people with work and school vs. the houses with retired or singles.

Oh......

Boy, lots of lightning and thunder down here, not to mention the rain coming down in buckets. I fertilized the lawn last week and hope all of it doesn't end up increasing the nitrates in the bay.
Finally some moisture to clean up the street oil slicks.

Afternoon SoCal Chapter! Going to try to peek in this forum more often. We are in South OC. Bought our Excursion used from Vista Ford couple of months ago. I hear they are better than Galpin... Super happy with it so far. Tows our trailer nicely.

Waking up to a thunderstorm was pretty cool today! A little hail, lots of wind. Nice to have some real weather for a change.
